Must admit I'd forgotten about Reid.

Injury prone players get injured, it is a fact and will never change. Tie in his wages and the reported £10m to his agent to make the deal happen, it was bad business and should never have happened.

It looked to be a stupidly expensive gamble when the deal was made and predictably is already looking like a complete disaster. Great player when he first came on the scene and looked like the new Gascoigne but injuries have ruined him and a mate of mine on the staff at Arsenal told me a year ago that they thought he was finished as a Premiership footballer over there. Emery outed him immediately he got a close look. From his few brief appearances so far that would appear to be the case , he's looked totally off the pace and even made Noble looked like an athlete. Its a great shame as he seems a decent lad and no one likes to see the kind of talent he had wasted but its hard to see how we can can continue to accommodate players like him and Carroll on £90-100k a week wages when you know you wont get any more than a dozen games a season out of them and they're always coming back from an injury. The wages are a drain as is the fact that they keep someone else out of the reckoning for a place in the squad. If they allow Declan Rice to leave over wages when we've got players like this on the payroll stealing a living then someone's head needs to go on the chopping block , we've had a reputation for these kind of roulette wheel signings that don't come off for years and its about time it stopped. If you're gonna gamble on players then lets start giving a few of our young players a go rather than invest in has been crocks.

I didnt have it down as a gamble....

I had it as 20% coming off and him playing over 15 games

80% it working out the way it has


It wasn't a gamble, it was plain stupidity expecting us to re-write history with his injury problems

I'd probably only give a shit if it was affecting us at all.

With Rice coming into his own and Snodders stepping up to the plate, it's not as if he's been missed too much and will only be a Bastard if we get more players injured.
